The Baltimore Ravens' trading of two-time Pro Bowl corner Jaire Alexander was made official on November 1, sending him to the Philadelphia Eagles, after the former Green Bay Packer played two games for Zach Orr's defense this season.
Alexander's move to the NFC and the Eagles was seen as a solid piece of business for the defending Super Bowl champs, who needed some more cover in the secondary.
But it might not last long.
Per Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, Alexander is stepping away from football to focus on his mental and physical health before making a call on his NFL future.
"Former Pro Bowl CB Jaire Alexander has decided to step away from football to try to focus on getting himself right physically and mentally before deciding on his future," Glazer posted on X. "Alexander informed the Eagles of his decision today @nflonfox has learned."

Alexander pondering retirement?
Given what we have heard from Glazer's reporting, that is what it sounds like, with Alexander stepping away to get himself in the right physical and mental shape to make what will no doubt be a huge decision.
Having only played a combined 14 games across his final two years in Green Bay (2023 and 2024), Alexander only played twice for the Ravens this season, posting five tackles from just 61 defensive snaps as part of Orr's unit.
Still only 28 years old, Alexander likely still has plenty of gas in the tank, but perhaps injuries over the past couple of years in Green Bay, and a slow start to life in Baltimore, coupled with the move to another new city, might have made the Pro Bowler rethink his NFL future.
Either way, we hope Alexander finds the right answer for himself and his family when it comes to his footballing future.
