When Nike took over as the NBA's official outfitter ahead of the 2017-18 season, the brand introduced multiple uniform designations:
- Association — White uniform
- Icon — Primary color uniform
- Statement — Third or alternate uniform
- City — Alternate uniform inspired by the team's home area
Gone are the days in which the home team is relegated to wearing a white or light-colored uniform, adding intrigue to a team's sartorial choices on a game-by-game basis.

Warriors uniforms for NBA Finals 2022
The Warriors will wear their white uniforms up to four times in the series, their black uniforms twice and will wear their blue uniforms in Game 6.

Celtics uniforms for NBA Finals 2022
The Celtics will wear both their green and white uniforms a maximum of three times in this series. Boston will opt to go with its black uniforms in Game 5.

Warriors uniform record in 2022 NBA Playoffs
The Warriors have worn their white Association uniforms 10 times in these playoffs, posting a 7-3 record in the set, including a win in Game 5 of the Finals. Golden State is 6-2 in its black uniforms and 2-1 in its royal blue Icon uniforms, with the lone loss coming in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
Celtics uniform record in 2022 NBA Playoffs
This postseason, the Celtics are 6-3 in their green Icon edition uniforms, including their loss in Game 2 of the Finals. Boston is 5-3 in its white Association uniforms and 3-3 in its black Statement edition uniforms, which were worn in Game 5 of the Finals.
