For the first time this season, James Harden has overtaken Giannis Antetokounmpo as the odds on favourite to win the NBA's MVP award according to BetOnline.
Harden is currently 7/4 to take home the award as he continues to average historic numbers. The seven-time All-Star is averaging a league-leading 39.2 points to go along with 7.6 assists and 5.7 rebounds. His Houston Rockets are the hottest team in the NBA as they're now on an eight-game winning streak and sit second in the Western Conference with an 11-3 record.
Despite being overtaken by Harden, Antetokounmpo is still a safe bet with 2/1 odds of going back-to-back as the league's most valuable player.
LeBron James rounds out the top three at 6/1 odds with his Los Angeles Lakers sitting at the top of the Western Conference.
20-year-old Luka Doncic has seen quite the rise, going from 30/1 odds in most books to 7/1 in BetOnline's latest update.
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam — albeit a long shot — is still in the mix with 50/1 odds to take home the MVP.
Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant is the current odds on favourite to win the Rookie of the Year award. Morant leads all rookies in points and assists, averaging 18.5 points and 6.5 assists per game.
Canadian RJ Barrett, who leads all rookies in minutes played at 33.5 per game, sits third in Rookie of the Year odds at 4/1. Fellow Canadian Brandon Clarke is also on the board at 18/1. Clarke leads all qualified rookies in efficiency with a PER of 22.76.
Zion Williamson, who was the odds on favourite coming into the season, is still a safe bet at 5/2, good for second behind Morant. Williamson is still expected to make his NBA debut before the new year.
