Chelsea have recalled Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland as the club reshape their attacking options following Bayern Munich's decision to end their interest in Nicolas Jackson, The Sporting News understands.
Guiu, 19, joined Sunderland on a season-long loan earlier this summer but has featured for just 13 minutes across their opening three Premier League fixtures.
The Spain youth international, who signed from Barcelona last year, is now set to rejoin Enzo Maresca's first-team squad after Chelsea activated the recall option.
Chelsea's decision comes at a time when uncertainty had surrounded Jackson's future, with German giants Bayern exploring a deal for the Senegal striker.
Jackson was scheduled to have a medical for Bayern on Saturday, but Chelsea blocked the deal after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury.
Jackson is under contract until 2033 and is not expected to return to London immediately, with the Chelsea squad granted two days off before the international break.

Instead, the 24-year-old will join up with Senegal ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and DR Congo.
Maresca's side had been considering forward options in case Jackson's situation changed, with Sporting CP striker Conrad Harder and Guiu both discussed internally.
While neither player is regarded as being comparable to Jackson in terms of top-level experience, both are seen as long-term investments for the club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea still anticipate Jackson linking back up with the squad despite recent speculation.
The club had been open to his departure earlier in the window following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Delap, which pushed him further down the attacking pecking order.
Jackson, who joined from Villarreal in 2023, expressed a desire to leave earlier this month and has yet to feature in any of Chelsea's opening three matches this season.
