Over the past few years, Moises Caicedo has developed a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the world.
He cemented that reputation on Saturday with a wonder goal against Liverpool that set Chelsea on their way to an impressive 2-1 win over the Reds.
Caicedo’s wonder-goal prompted Gary Neville to claim that he is the best midfielder in the league at the moment.
However, despite his goal-scoring heroics against the defending champions on Saturday, Jamie Carragher begged to differ.
The former Liverpool defender has placed the likes of Arsenal’s Declan Rice ahead of Caicedo as the best midfielder in the league.
Carragher’s verdict can be seen as a reaction to Liverpool’s surprising defeat on the weekend.

Jamie Carragher’s verdict on Moises Caicedo
While discussing who is the best midfielder in the league with Gary Neville, Carragher was quoted on X as saying, “If you are talking all round midfielder, Declan Rice would just pip Caicedo for me; I think he’s just got a little bit of extra quality with the ball, but there’s no doubt since I’d say Christmas he’s been as good as anybody.”

While it is a close call who is the better midfielder between Rice and Caicedo, the latter is more consistent with his performances on a weekly basis.
The only thing that the duo need to add to their game is the ability to find the back of the net consistently. Whoever can do that can be considered the better player between the two of them.
