Currently involved in Asia Cup, India's preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 are in full flow, as they look to defend their title at home.
On the other hand, Ireland competes with England in a T20I series after a tough home season, where four of their eight internationals have ended without results due to rain.
While recently, Captain Paul Stirling expressed his disappointment over the lack of international games ahead of the England series, Cricket Ireland's decision-makers plan to improve 2026 and 2027, as confirmed by Chairman Brian MacNeice.

Will India tour Ireland in 2026?
As revealed by ESPNcricinfo, the Cricket Ireland officials have been in active talks with the BCCI officials to confirm a white-ball tour in Dublin.
If the talks end on a positive note, India could be playing Ireland ahead of the five T20Is and three ODIs scheduled in England from July 1 to 19 next year.
Previously, India has toured thrice in 2018, 2022 and 2023 for two-match T20I series each, winning all six matches.
In India's recent tour of the UK, the visitors managed to tie the five-match Test series against England in a dramatic final day finish, led by Shubman Gill.
