While picking his all-time India T20 XI for Cricbuzz, DK heaped praise on Kohli for his T20 batting and termed him the T20I 'GOAT'.
"Probably the greatest ever player across time in this format. Have to say one of the greatest India has had across formats but definitely in the T20 format, he is the name you cannot miss across the world level, forget a team India level," he said.
The 36-year-old has won two Player of the Tournament awards in the T20 World Cups 2014 and 2016, while winning two orange caps and one Most Valuable Player award in the IPL.

Kohli is the third highest run-scorer in the T20 internationals with 4188 runs in 117 innings and the highest scorer in the IPL with 8661 runs in 259 innings.

After winning the only white-ball ICC trophy missing from his cabinet in 2024, Kohli announced his T20I retirement. However, as he continues to play the IPL for RCB, he managed to lift his first title in 2025.
