Ravi Bopara and Adil Rashid take part in Rapid Fire Q/A
Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid’s podcast Beard Before Wicket mixes cricket conversations with a relaxed, personal vibe. They often invite guests like Bopara to talk not just about the game but life around it- food, films, and a few laughs.
During the episode, Bopara and Rashid went through a quick Q&A. When asked about food, Bopara said he’d go for biryani while Adil stuck with curry.
On drinks, it was chai for Adil and coffee for Bopara. Both agreed that samosas beat pakodas any day. When asked to choose between paneer and chicken, Bopara leaned towards paneer while Adil stayed loyal to chicken.
And when the topic turned to Bollywood, their answers split again as Adil preferred Salman Khan, while Bopara was team Shah Rukh. But when it came to “Bollywood or cricket highlights,” both leaned toward cricket clips.

Wasim-Waqar or Dhoni-Kohli? Ravi Bopara & Adil Rashid pick favourite duo
The biggest surprise came when the hosts asked: Wasim-Waqar or Dhoni-Kohli?
Without hesitation, both Adil Rashid and Ravi Bopara went with Pakistan’s legendary fast-bowling pair, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Bopara explained, “I grew up watching them as a kid, so for me, it’s Wasim and Waqar.”
What made Wasim and Waqar such a legendary bowling pair?
Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were a nightmare for batters across the world. Wasim, the left-arm magician, could swing both the new and old ball effortlessly. Waqar, on the other hand, brought raw speed and aggression.
In the 61 Tests they played together, they took a combined 559 wickets. Only Ambrose-Walsh and Anderson-Broad have more wickets as pairs, but when it comes to wickets per match, no duo matched Wasim and Waqar’s strike rate.
Their average of 22.1 runs per wicket and a strike rate of 45.6 balls per dismissal showed how dominant they were. Between them, they took over a quarter of Pakistan’s wickets in those matches.
