Being put into bat by the hosts, the Asian side never looked comfortable and crumbled to some disciplined bowling by the Zimbabwe side. Sikandar Raza, the Zimbabwe skipper, bowled an exceptional spell of 3/11 in his 4 overs.

The skipper was supported very well by Brad Evans and Muzarabani as they clinched 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. Kamil Mishara was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka with 20 in 20 balls.
In return, the Zimbabwe side did struggle a bit, but eventually went on to win the game by 5 wickets and 34 balls to spare.
