Rohit Sharma featured in his first international match for the Indian team in 2026 as the Men in Blue are preparing to take on New Zealand in the first of their three-match ODI series.
Sharma last played for India in the ODI series against South Africa in December. He made good starts in two of the three matches but could not convert them into centuries. He ended up scoring 142 runs against the Proteas, including two half-centuries.

Following the SA ODI series at home, Sharma returned to action in domestic cricket as he played a couple of games for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and scored a ton in one of them. Sharma returned to domestic action for the first time since 2018.
