Two days after Pakistan's five-wicket defeat at the hands of arch-rivals India in the Asia Cup 2025 final, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to suspend all player NOCs regarding playing in overseas T20 leagues, according to ESPNCricinfo.
This order from the PCB means that Pakistani players can no longer participate in leagues abroad like the Big Bash League or the Hundred.
PCB's chief operating officer, Sumair Ahmad Syed had officially communicated the decision to the players on September 29.

PCB suspends NOCs for overseas T20 leagues
The statement from PCB read: "With the approval of Chairman PCB, all No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players with respect to participation in leagues and other out of country tournaments are hereby put on hold until further orders."

Why did PCB cancel NOCs for overseas T20 leagues?
Cricinfo further claims that PCB are yet to reveal the exact reasoning behind taking such a call, however, the board reportedly wants to issue the NOCs based on merit and performance. Although the parameters have not been decided yet.

Which Pakistani players will be affected the most by PCB's new rule?
As many as seven Pakistani players, including national team stars like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi, were supposed to compete in the Big Bash League this season, however, their participation has come under doubt.
