Former Indian cricketers Navjot Singh Sidhu and Mohammad Kaif have scrutinised the decision that went against Virat Kohli during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, April 21.
On the first ball of the third over, bowled by Harshit Rana, the ball seemed to be coming at waist height.

Unfortunately, Kohli could only edge it straight back into the bowler's hands, with the on-field umpires immediately referring to the third umpire.
TV replays showed that Kohli was slightly outside the popping crease. Per the visuals on the replays, the ball would have been below the waist height had Kohli been inside his popping crease, based on the trajectory analysed by the Hawk-Eye.
Kohli wasn't pleased one bit with the decision, making his thoughts clear to the on-field umpires as he walked away in anger.

Navjot Singh Sidhu defends Virat Kohli
In a video uploaded on his official social media accounts, Sidhu gave an explanation as to why Kohli should not have been given out.
I am disappointed, not only for Virat Kohli but also for RCB. When you made a rule by bringing a height funda, did you see that it was 6 inches on your toes and 6 inches above like this, or by measuring its height, did you give him a 7-inch allowance? That is number one.
Virat's decision yesterday was disappointing. Umpiring in general has been a let down in IPL 2024. #KKRvRCB #ViratKohli pic.twitter.com/Ng7SH4fENS
