Musheer, who came in to open the batting for Mumbai, saw his innings end prematurely with a three-ball duck. He was dismissed by JKCA star pacer Auqib Nabi.
On the other hand, Maharashtra also found themselves in trouble with four of their top five batters falling for ducks, including Shaw. He was trapped lbw by Kerala pacer Nidheesh M D. in the first over of the match.
Was it Musheer Khan who was dismissed or Sarfaraz Khan?
Fans were briefly confused about whether it was Musheer or his brother Sarfaraz who was dismissed for a duck. However, the BCCI scorecard later clarified that Musheer had opened the batting for Mumbai and was the one who fell for a duck.
Shaw and Musheer altercation before Ranji Trophy
Before the first round of Ranji fixtures, the Maharashtra Cricket Association hosted the Mumbai Cricket Association in a warm-up match in Gahunje.
Shaw posted a brilliant 181-run knock against his former team continuing his good performances from the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, where he scored a hundred and fifty in three innings.
However, moments after the spinner Musheer Khan dismissed him, the right-handed batter got into an altercation with the 20-year-old. The duo were held back before things got physical.
Despite the collision, the duo later sorted out their differences and were seen hugging and talking off the field.
Shaw is currently looking to stage a comeback to the top level after he went unsold in the Indian Premier League 2025 auction. So far, he has scored 4556 First Class runs in 58 matches, averaging 46.02.
Meanwhile, Musheer has also had an impressive start to his FC career, scoring 716 runs in just 9 matches. He has racked up three centuries and fifty in his short career and has won the Ranji and Irani Trophies with Mumbai.
