Matthew Forde was on fire when the West Indies faced Ireland in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series as the visitors attempted to level the series after a 124-run loss in the opener..

After being asked to bat first, the Caribbeans started the innings well and found themselves 187/4 at the 33.1 over mark when Forde joined Keacy Carty, who scored 102(109).

Forde went on to wreak havoc as he took on the Irish bowlers and scored a blistering half-century from just 16 balls, while levelling AB de Villiers' record.

On his way to the fifty, he took on Josh Little in particular and got 26 runs from the 45th over as he went on to finish his innings with 59 runs off 19 balls, hitting 8 sixes and 2 fours. West Indies ended the innings with 352/8 after 50 overs.

Fastest fifties in ODI cricket - Top 5 list of batters

The South African, de Villiers, made a 16-ball fifty against the West Indies in Johannesburg in 2015 in the famous match where he scored a 149 from just 44 deliveries.

Forde equaled that record to only become the second player to complete the fifty in 16 balls.
