Kuldeep ended with figures of 5/82 in his 26.4 overs during the West Indies' first innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The fifer helped the spinner equal the record of England's Johnny Wardle for the most fifers by a left-arm wrist-spinner in Tests.

The man from Kanpur went a step ahead of England's Wardle as he grabbed his fifth Test fifer. He broke the 68-year-old record achieved by the Englishmen during a Test against South Africa in 1957, where he bowled 20.2 overs, scalping 5 wickets for 61 runs.

Kuldeep completed his fifth fifer in his 15th Test for India, which is a testimony to his skill and consistency despite getting limited opportunities.

He opened his account on Saturday evening, dismissing a well-set Alick Athanaze for 41 and ripping through the West Indies batters on Sunday, grabbing four more wickets, giving away just 82.

This was Kuldeep's second fifer against the Caribbean side, which happens to be one of his favourite opponents to play against. The Indian spinner has picked up a total of 69 wickets against the West Indies.

Out of the 69 wickets, 19 of them have come in the four Tests, while 33 and 19 have come in ODIs and T20Is, respectively, against the Men in Maroon.
