Jasprit Bumrah may be India’s bowling spearhead on the field, but off the pitch, it’s his wife Sanjana Ganesan who bowled him over with a hilarious joke on a podcast.

The duo appeared on Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s talk show ‘Who’s The Boss’ and the banter between the two left everyone in splits.

In a moment that has gone viral, Sanjana trolled Bumrah. Let's take a look at what actually happened on the show.

What did Sanjana Ganesan say to poke fun at Bumrah?

Sanjana recalled a funny moment from their pre-wedding days and shared how Bumrah once joked that they should elope instead of going through the wedding formalities.

She laughed and replied to him: “Tum run-up mein nahi bhaagte, tum mere saath kya bhagoge?”.  This pokes fun at Bumrah’s famously short run-up. Bumrah couldn’t help but smile at the roast.

How did Bumrah and Sanjana meet?

For those who don’t know, the couple’s story began around 2013-14, during the IPL, when Sanjana was working as a sports presenter and Bumrah was rising through the ranks as a bowler.

The two started off with casual chats during media duties and eventually became good friends which over time blossomed into a relationship.

They tied the knot in Goa on March 15, 2021, in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family. In 2023, they welcomed their son, Angad Bumrah.

What’s happening with Bumrah on the cricket front?

Bumrah is currently in England and is part of a five-match Test series. In the first match at Headingley, he was fantastic in the first innings and picked up five wickets. But he couldn’t repeat that success in the second innings and India lost the match.

Bumrah will not play all five matches in the series to manage his fitness.
