The Asia Cup 2025 has reached its final stage and with India set to face Pakistan on Sunday in Dubai, former cricketers have started sharing their best XI of the tournament.

Among them, Irfan Pathan revealed his chosen line-up, and it quickly grabbed attention because it included stars from both India and Pakistan, along with a mix of players from other Asian teams.

Who did Irfan Pathan select as the openers?

Pathan’s team begins with Abhishek Sharma, who has been the standout batter of the competition. The left-hander has piled up runs at a quick rate, scoring more than 300 runs already with multiple fifties.

Alongside him, Pathan picked Litton Das of Bangladesh, who was also given the role of wicketkeeper in this XI. 

Which other players filled the Asia Cup 2025 XI?

The No. 3 slot went to Suryakumar Yadav, India’s senior batter, while Bangladesh youngster Towhid Hridoy was slotted at No. 4 for his consistent scoring.

Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan came in at five, with Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka following at six.

To add balance, Pathan also included Azmatullah Omarzai from Afghanistan at No. 7. He included Pakistan’s spearhead Shaheen Afridi to lead the pace attack.

From India, two key names featured in the bowling attack: Kuldeep Yadav, who is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 12 wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah.
