IPL 2023: Rohit Sharma becomes second Indian cricketer to reach 11000 T20 runs

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma not only helped his team qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs with a breezy half-century (56 off 37 balls), but also entered the record books as he became only the second Indian cricketer to reach the 11000-run landmark in T20s.

Virat Kohli is the only other Indian cricketer to have crossed 11000 runs in the shortest format of the game and now finds himself just 35 runs shy of crossing 12000 runs following his unbeaten 101 against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Rohit had scored just one half-century in 13 IPL innings this season, but delivered in his team's most important game of the season so far by scoring a brisk 56 and putting on a 128-run stand with Cameron Green, who himself went on to score a century and guide MI to vic  tory.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli...? Which Indian batsmen have scored the most runs in T20s?

Kohli is the highest scoring Indian batsman in T20s, aggregating 11965 runs in over 370 games.

He is followed in second by Rohit, who has 11016 runs in over 400 T20 games. In fact, Rohit and Kohli are the only two Indian players whose runs are in five digits. No other Indian batsmen have crossed the 10000-run mark in T20s.

Who are the highest run-getters in T20 history?

The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle, leads the all-time T20 run-scoring charts with 14562 runs. He is the only player to cross 14000 T20 runs.
