Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya are set for a comeback as they have been named in the India T20I squad against South Africa. India will take on South Africa in a five-match T20I series, beginning on December 9.
Suryakumar Yadav, who led India to Asia Cup triumph recently, has been named the India captain.
India was sweating on Gill's fitness after the star batter picked up a neck injury during the opening Test against South Africa in Kolkata. Gill missed the second Test and the ODI series but has been passed fit for the T20I series and will be the Indian vice-captain.

Similarly, Pandya, who had picked up a quad injury during the Asia Cup, will return to international cricket after over two months. The India all-rounder competed in the domestic tournament, Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, to get some much-needed match practice.
