Pakistan women are now on the brink of elimination after their game against New Zealand, which ended without a result. Their chances rest upon the Women in Blue, who will take on England Women on Sunday in their fifth league game.

How can India knock Pakistan out of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 semi-final race?

The R. Premadasa Stadium is playing host to all of Pakistan's fixtures and the majority of Sri Lanka's, but Colombo has been blighted by rain, with the match between Pakistan and New Zealand being the fourth of nine staged there to fail to reach a result.

The abandoned game now means that India can knock out their arch-rivals Pakistan with a victory over England, in their fifth and must-win league game.

India women are set to face England women at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday. Even if England wins, Pakistan women will have to beat both South Africa and Sri Lanka, and will have to wait for the other results to fall in place.

The game between New Zealand and Pakistan lasted for just 25 overs. Batting first, Pakistan women were at 92 for 5 when rain interrupted play and the match was called off without a result.
