India may have sealed their spot in the Asia Cup 2025 final with another strong win, but their fielding display has become a real talking point.

Against Bangladesh in the Super 4 clash, Indian players grassed chance after chance, giving Saif Hassan multiple lives and keeping the opposition in the game longer than expected.

Despite the comfortable margin of victory, the dropped catches have exposed a worrying pattern, one that had already shown up in their earlier game against Pakistan in the same stage.

Fans and experts now believe catching could be India’s only weak link in an otherwise dominant campaign.

How many chances did India drop against Bangladesh in the Super 4?

The clash against Bangladesh saw India produce one of their sloppiest fielding efforts in recent times.

Saif Hassan was the luckiest batter on the field, as he was given four reprieves in total.

It began in the 12th over when Axar Patel failed to hold on to a straightforward chance. Soon after, Dube dropped another sitter in the deep.

Samson also made a complete mess of a skied ball despite calling early, while Abhishek Sharma at deep backward square failed to judge another.

The misery did not stop there. Even in the 19th over, Kuldeep Yadav failed to complete what looked like a catchable chance offered by Nasum Ahmed.

Altogether, India dropped five catches in the match, four of them from Hassan.

Did India also struggle with catching against Pakistan?

This wasn’t the first time India’s catching let them down in the Asia Cup 2025. In the earlier Super 4 clash against Pakistan, the same problem was visible as four catches went down.

Abhishek Sharma had a night to forget, dropping Sahibzada Farhan twice. Kuldeep Yadav put down Saim Ayub and Shubman Gill dropped Faheem Ashraf.
