The India vs. Pakistan Women's World Cup 2025 clash came to a bizarre halt when a large number of bugs entered the field, and players could not continue playing in Colombo.

Heading into this heated clash, India defeated Sri Lanka by 59 runs in a rain-affected game, while Pakistan lost by 7 wickets to Bangladesh.

Following up on the recent events in the Asia Cup, the captains snubbed a handshake at the toss.

The bugs first entered the field around the 25th over mark, as the Pakistan bowlers were seen waving the towels in an unsuccessful attempt to get rid of the flies.

Captain Fatima Sana also sprayed a repellent spray in the air to protect herself and her teammates. However, the flies continued to come in large numbers as both teams had to leave the field at the end of 34 overs to allow the ground staff to take care of the situation.

The staff later entered the field with insecticide gases while players waited on the sidelines. At the point of the long halt, India was 154/4, with Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma in the middle.
