IND-W vs SA-W final rain delay: When will the overs start reducing?
According to ICC playing conditions, overs will begin reducing from 5 PM IST if play does not start by then.
The match officials will look to complete a full 50-over contest today, but once time loss passes that mark, the number of overs per side will be shortened to accommodate the remaining time and playing window.
Every four minutes of lost play roughly equates to one over being deducted per innings. The minimum requirement for a valid result is 20 overs per side, meaning that even if the match is heavily delayed, officials will try to fit in at least that many before considering a reserve day.
Cut-off time for a 20-over match: 9:08 PM IST
As per ICC's official guidelines, the cut-off time for a 20-over-per-side game is 9:08 PM IST. That means if play doesn't begin by then, the match will automatically move to the reserve day (Monday).
If play resumes and rain interrupts again, the reduced-overs situation will carry forward to the next day. In the event rain washes out the reserve day as well, both teams will be declared joint winners, as per ICC rules.
