The India vs Pakistan Asia Cup face-off was plagued with controversy amid all the calls from fans to boycott the fixture after the Pahalgam terrorist attack earlier this year.
While the Indian government and the BCCI decided to go ahead with the fixture as scheduled, the players and management showed a gesture in solidarity towards the victims of the attack.
During the toss, India captain Suryakumar Yadav refused a handshake with Pakistan skipper Salman Agha, catching the attention of fans on the internet. The Indian team then refused to shake hands with the Pakistan players after the match.

The handshake seems to continue even a day after the match, as the Pakistan Cricket Board took multiple actions in a bid to implicate the Indian team in wrongdoings.
PCB lodged complaint with ICC against match referee Andy Pycroft
The PCB accused Pycroft of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct and the MCC Laws pertaining to the Spirit of Cricket and demanded the immediate removal of the match referee from the tournament.
They even threatened to withdraw from the Asia Cup 2025 if their demands are not taken into account.
