India vs South Africa 1st ODI live

Toss: India won the toss and chose to field.

End of the match: India win by 4 wickets

That's all from Baroda as India take the lead in the three-match series with a four-wicket victory thanks to Virat Kohli's brilliant knock of 93 runs.

40 overs, IND 239/4

India have lost Kohli and Jadeja in quick succession. Kohli missed out on his century. However, with almost run-a-ball required in the last 10 overs, India should ideally chase down the total.

35 overs, IND 213/2

Virat Kohli close to scoring his 85th international century as India are closing in on winning the first ODI in Vadodara.

22 overs, IND 131/1

Kohli reaches his half-century and is now the second-highest run scorer in international cricket across all formats after Sachin Tendulkar. India sailing smoothly towards their target.

10 overs, IND 49/1

India have started slowly in their run chase and has also lost Rohit Sharma's wicket within the first 10 overs of the match. All eyes are on Virat Kohli now.

50 overs, NZ 300/8.

New Zealand finish strongly as they reach the 300-run mark at the end of their innings. A mouthwatering run chase is on the cards now.

40 overs, NZ: 222/5

Mitchell completes his half-century as New Zealand recover after losing a few wickets in the middle overs.

30 overs, NZ: 153/3

Indian bowlers have been on top in the middle overs. Rana bowled two impressive deliveries to send Conway & Nicholls packing, while Siraj saw the back of Will Young.

Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips are currently in the middle, and these two have a job at hand to keep the scoreboard ticking and build a platform for the later batters to accelerate in the slog overs.

15 overs, NZ: 76/0

The Kiwis have gone off to a solid start. They are building their innings with patience and composure, and the Indian bowlers have hardly troubled them. Henry Nicholls got a reprieve when Kuldeep Yadav dropped him at third man in the sixth over. That has turned out to be a costly mistake as the batsman has shown no signs of slowing down.

Before the match, Rishabh Pant was ruled out due to a side strain. He has been replaced by Dhruv Jurel in the Indian squad.

India are fielding a full-strength side against the Kiwis, as captain Shubman Gill and his deputy Sheryas return to the team after missing the South Africa series due to injuries.

However, all eyes will be on the veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who were in sensational form against South Africa. They are determined to force their way into the squad for the 2027 World Cup and are relentlessly pursuing their ambition to lift the trophy in South Africa.
