How many WTC points will India get if they beat West Indies? image

India kicked off their journey in the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle on a bright note as they came back from behind to hold England to a 2-2 draw in the five-Test series in England in the summer.

With senior stars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired, the Indian Test team got a new captain in Shubman Gill, who fearlessly led the team with example on English soil.

Now the focus shifts to India's home turf as they host West Indies in a two-match series, with the first Test being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, starting October 2.

West Indies come to India on the back of a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of Australia in their own backyard. They will hope to restore pride by winning at least one Test match on Indian soil.

India are firm favourites to win the series and they will aim to complete a whitewash and take a leap in the WTC 2025-27 points table.

So what happens if India win all the matches of the series? How many points will they get at the end of the tour? Let's find out.

How many WTC points will India get if they beat West Indies?

The WTC rules are similar to the last three editions of the competition, where a team winning a game will be awarded 12 points. Six points will be handed for a draw and none for a loss.

Points will be deducted in case of over-rate offence, one point per over and it will affect the team's final points tally.

After the series, the total points collected will be converted to a percentage total against the total points on offer for the series and PCT will be adjusted.

In case India win both matches and no points are deducted for over-rate offences, India will collect 24 points and it will be added to their current points tally, which stands at 28 after the England series.

With 52 points in seven matches (five against England and two against West Indies), India's PCT will go up to 61.90 per cent.
