How did Shane Warne guide Kuldeep during the Australia tour?

Kuldeep has often spoken about the time he spent with Warne during India’s 2018–19 tour of Australia. The young spinner was nervous before the Sydney Test, but Warne gave him a pep talk that stayed with him forever.

He told Kuldeep to bowl with a smile and enjoy the game rather than overthinking. Those simple words freed him of pressure.

That Test turned into a career-defining moment as Kuldeep claimed his maiden five-wicket haul and later dedicated the performance to Warne. The Aussie legend was touched and even had tears in his eyes.

Kuldeep has since said that visiting Warne’s house and learning from him one-on-one gave him a new vision about cricket and life.

Life after that high wasn’t always smooth. Between 2019 and 2021, Kuldeep struggled badly with form and even lost his IPL spot.

But he rebuilt himself, working on fitness and variations, and bounced back strongly with Delhi Capitals in 2022.

His revival carried into the international stage and then he had success in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup win and his brilliant red-ball series against England at home.
