The India vs Pakistan final of Asia Cup 2025 is just hours away, and all eyes are on India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav.

The 35-year-old has struggled for runs recently, but former Indian opener Kris Srikkanth is confident that Surya will deliver when it matters most.

Srikkanth has made a bold claim ahead of the title clash in Dubai, giving fans hope that the captain can shine under pressure.

Srikkanth believe Surya will score in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan

Srikkanth pointed out that despite Surya’s poor run of form, India’s T20I record under him remains strong.

He said that playing on Sunday suits the captain’s name and personality, and predicted that Surya will score at least 33 in the final.

"Suryakumar Yadav is going to score big tomorrow. Tomorrow is a Sunday, which is the definition of his name. So playing on a 'Sun' day, Surya will definitely score tomorrow. He will score a minimum of 33, I will even give you the exact number," said Srikkanth.

He also advised Surya to play carefully in the first 10 balls and avoid risky flicks down the leg side.

"My only advice to him would be to avoid playing the flick down the leg side straightaway. Instead, play the first 10 balls in the V." he added.

Has Suryakumar Yadav struggled in T20Is vs Pakistan?

Historically, Surya has not been at his best against Pakistan in T20Is. In seven matches, he has scored just 111 runs at an average of 18.50, with a strike rate of 118.08.

Until the ongoing Asia Cup, he had never crossed 20 in any of his previous five T20Is against Pakistan.

His form reversal in the first India-Pakistan match this tournament, where he scored 47*, gave some hope, but he followed it with a duck in the second Super Four encounter.

Even with recent struggles, India have been dominant in T20Is under his captaincy, winning 19 out of 21 matches since he took over.
