Yashasvi Jaiswal once again became the centre of attention in Delhi, not only for his brilliant batting but also for a light-hearted exchange with West Indies legend Brian Lara.

During the second Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Jaiswal smashed a dominant 175 and left the opposition bowlers struggling to find answers.

But what caught everyone’s heart was Lara’s playful message to the young Indian star after the innings.

What did Brian Lara say to Yashasvi Jaiswal after his stunning knock?

The 23-year-old left-hander had taken the West Indies attack apart with elegant drives and effortless timing.

As he returned to the dressing room after his innings, Brian Lara, who has been in Delhi for the Test, congratulated him personally.

With a smile, Lara said the words that left both of them laughing. He embraced him warmly and joked, “Don’t beat our bowlers that bad.” The clip, shared by BCCI, instantly went viral among fans.

How did Jaiswal reflect on his innings?

Jaiswal shared insights into his calm and composed approach after the day’s play. He said that he always tries to think about what the team needs at that moment.

“I always think about what’s best for my team. If I get a start, I make sure to turn it into something big,” Jaiswal said.

He also praised his batting partners- Sai Sudharsan, who scored 87 and Shubman Gill, who went on to reach a century.

Together, Jaiswal and Sudharsan added a massive 193-run stand for the second wicket, setting a strong base for India.

India finished Day 1 in a commanding position, with Gill unbeaten on 129 and the team posting 318/2 by stumps. Jaiswal was well on track for another double century but was dismissed in an unfortunate run-out mix-up with Gill early on Day 2.
