Where do the Eagles stand in power rankings after disappointing Week 13 loss? image

The Philadelphia Eagles entered Week 13 wanting to put their disappointing Week 12 loss behind them.

The team had a 21-0 lead over the division rival Dallas Cowboys last week, and ended up losing 24-21. It was a shocking loss, and it seemed like there was no way the team would come out in Week 13 and lay another egg.

However, the Chicago Bears came to town on Black Friday and thoroughly outplayed the Eagles. The Bears outgained the Eagles 425-317, forced two turnovers, and held the ball for almost 20 minutes longer.

The Eagles ended up falling 24-15 and were bombarded with boos from their home fans on the way off the field. It's the second loss in a row for the Eagles and moves the team to 8-4 on the season.

Jacob Infante of PFSN updated his power rankings after the Friday slate of games, and he knocked the Eagles down quite a bit compared to last week. Infante has the Eagles in 11th, and they were 4th just last week.

Regarding the Eagles, Infante offered the following analysis:

Perhaps surprisingly, the Philadelphia Eagles dropped to the Cowboys on Sunday in a 24-21 nail-biter. After getting out to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter, the Eagles took their foot off the gas on both sides of the ball, and it came back to bite them in the form of their third loss of the year.

What’s more surprising was their loss to the Bears in Week 13. Chicago completely outplayed them at home, and Philadelphia is now 8-4 on the season. Despite that, the Eagles still have a great chance of making the postseason, according to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor. They still have a sizable lead in the NFC East, so they don’t appear to be in jeopardy of losing that top spot any time soon.

As Infante mentioned, this is the second disappointing performance in a row for the Eagles. It's far from panic time, as the team is still in first place in the NFC East, but it's a concerning trend as we approach the end of the regular season.

The Cowboys also picked up a nice win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day, and have now won three in a row. The Cowboys are now just two games back of the Eagles for the division lead.

The next test for the Eagles will be against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14. After that, the team has games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Buffalo Bills, and two matchups with the Washington Commanders to end the regular season.
