Ryan Fitzpatrick may get company as a Harvard QB in the NFL with latest Mel Kiper Jr. sleeper image

Ryan Fitzpatrick was known for many things in his NFL career.

One of the main things, aside from his beard: He went to Harvard.

The Crimson aren't exactly in the business of churning out NFL quarterbacks, but there was Fitzy, lasting for more than a decade. And now he's a notable figure as part of the Thursday Night Football pregame and postgame shows on Amazon Prime Video.

Turns out, though, there might be another Harvard QB on his way to the league.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr., in a new article on Monday, revealed that his favorite quarterback sleeper for the 2026 NFL Draft is Jaden Craig from Harvard.

"He's my QB8 right now, and it'd be no surprise if he went in the third or fourth round," Kiper writes. "Craig has a live arm, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame and sound mechanics. I like how he buys time in the pocket with his movement traits and then delivers strikes into tight windows with terrific touch. He has thrown 25 touchdown passes to seven interceptions this season, and although he didn't have the best game against Villanova in the FCS playoffs, NFL teams are going to be interested."

The biggest question always for any NFL team when drafting a player from the FCS ranks is how well all the skills will translate against bigger, stronger and faster players. But big-school players aren't guaranteed to be successes, either.

A drafting team is usually betting on a skillset that it likes. And Craig has an impressive skillset.

Fitzpatrick proved a quarterback from Harvard can make it in the NFL. It's soon going be Craig's turn to show that the Crimson are more than a one-hit QB wonder.
