Giants headstrong QB Jaxson Dart refusing to change style of play despite injuries image

The New York Giants are now 2-11 after a 33-15 blowout loss to the New England Patriots. The Monday night tilt marked the return of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who had missed two games after suffering a concussion against the Chicago Bears. Due to his injuries, Giants fans were likely hopeful that he would take things easy when it came to taking big hits in his return, but he did the exact opposite.

Dart took a pair of hits early on that made fans hold their breath. The second of the two hits came at the hands of Christian Elliss, who sent Dart flying through the air on a scramble down the sideline. This sparked a brief skirmish between the two teams, and lead to a penalty on tight end Theo Johnson for starting the altercation.

Dart was asked about his style of play after the game, and he made it very clear that he is changing nothing.

"I understand the question, but this is football," Dart said. "I'm going to get hit if I'm in the pocket or outside the pocket. I've played this way my whole entire life. It shouldn't be any shocker to anybody if you've followed along with my career. We're not playing soccer out here. You're going to get hit, things happen. It's just part of the game."

While Dart's heart is admirable, we've seen other quarterbacks have their careers altered due to the amount of hits they took. The last thing Giants fans would want is for the hits to add up like they did with Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III.
