Rams playoff-clinching scenarios going into Week 15 vs. Lions image

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off one of the most dominant performances of the season by any team, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 45-17. Quarterback Matthew Stafford added three touchdowns to his season-total, bringing him to 35 touchdown passes and just four interceptions and keeping him in the pole position in the MVP race.

On top of their superstar quarterback possibly winning his first MVP and facing his former team in Week 15, the Rams as a team could clinch a playoff spot should their tilt against the Lions go their way.

The scenario is simple for Los Angeles - if they defeat the Lions, they clinch a playoff spot. They can't clinch the NFC West as of yet, as the Seattle Seahawks hold the same record (10-3) and the San Francisco 49ers are just a game behind both teams at 9-4. The Seahawks will host the Indianapolis Colts, who appear to be preparing to start 44-year-old, newly-unretired Philip Rivers at quarterback. The 49ers will take on Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans in Santa Clara.

The game for the NFC West very well may come in Week 17 when the Rams travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.  The Rams won the first matchup on the strength of their defense picking off Sam Darnold four times. On top of Detroit and Seattle, the Rams will face the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta, and close out with the Arizona Cardinals at home.

The 49ers will take on the Titans in Week 15, followed by contests against the Indianapolis Colts on the road, the Chicago Bears at home, and ending the season at home against the Seattle Seahawks in another game that will have massive playoff implications. Seattle's remaining schedule includes hosting the Colts and Rams, before travelling to Carolina to face the Panthers and closing out with the 49ers.
