The Los Angeles Chargers are finding ways to win, but some reinforcements could be necessary. 

The Chargers improved to 6-3 on the season following a 27-20 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. It wasn't pretty, and the Chargers saw another key player go down with an injury, but the win helped them keep pace with the Denver Broncos in the AFC West. 

However, Joe Alt went down with another ankle injury, having to be carted off the field in the game. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, it will keep him out for a long period of time, though there is hope he will return this season. 

With that in mind, here are some moves the Chargers should consider before Tuesday's 1:00 PM Pacific time trade deadline.

Chargers add running back Jerome Ford

This is an idea that has been discussed before, and it still makes plenty of sense. 

The Chargers are technically down to their No. 4 running back in Kimani Vidal with Najee Harris, Omarion Hampton and Hassan Haskins all out with injuries. Though Hampton and Haskins should return at some point this season (Harris is out for the year), how effective will they be?

Vidal has played well when his number has been called, but the Chargers need another option. Jerome Ford would be perfect for that role. 

The Cleveland Browns used high draft picks on Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the draft, so there isn't much of a role available for Ford there. The Chargers could get him at a low cost and add him to their stable, at least for the rest of this season.

Chargers add Commanders tackle after being placed on the block

The Washington Commanders are having a rough season after reaching the NFC Championship Game last year and according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the team is open to trading either Andrew Wylie or Nick Allegretti. Both players could make sense for a Chargers team looking to help an ailing offensive line. 

With Rashawn Slater already out for the season, coupled with the recent Alt news, the Chargers probably need more than Trey Pipkins, Bobby Hart and Austin Deculus (who has also dealt with injuries). 

Wylie spent six seasons in Kansas City, gaining Super Bowl experience. He has started in 92 career games. Allegretti also played for the Chiefs and helped the team win three Super Bowls. Both of these players would bring legitimate experience to the Chargers and either of them could be had for a day three draft pick.

Chargers receive: OT Andrew Wylie or OT Nick Allegretti
Commanders receive: 2026 5th-round pick

Chargers take a shot on failed Giants O-Lineman

Evan Neal was a first-round pick of the New York Giants in 2022. To say he's been a failure in the Big Apple would probably be an understatement. 

Neal has yet to play in a game this season after losing his starting job, but he's still only 25 years old and may just need a change of scenery. The Chargers have had issues keeping Mekhi Becton healthy and Neal could join a rotation at the guard position that includes only Zion Johnson, Jamaree Salyer and Foster Sarell. 

The Giants would likely give him up for next to nothing and for a team that could use a prospect with a high ceiling on the offensive line, the Chargers could take a chance.

Giants receive: 2026 7th-round pick
