Despite getting Joe Burrow back and healthy, the Cincinnati Bengals still aren't at full strength. Edge Trey Hendrickson is expected to miss his fifth consecutive game of the season on Sunday when the Bengals take on the Buffalo Bills.
"Trey Hendrickson already doubtful for this weekend against Buffalo, according to Zac Taylor," wrote Paul Dehner Jr. In a post on X.
"Says he is mostly working with trainers behind scenes. As for future return, still taking it 'week to week.'"
Trey Hendrickson still dealing with pelvis injury
The Bengals' defense has been shorthanded without Hendrickson, and despite an upstart performance against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, they're certainly going to need him if they want any hope of making a late playoff push.
At 4-8, they're effectively out of the wild card race. But the AFC North remains wide open thanks to the 6-6 Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers slumping at the right time.
Cincinnati plays Baltimore once again in Week 15, and they split the season series with Pittsburgh.
If they can keep their playoff hopes alive just a few weeks more, maybe the NFL's 2024 sack leader will make his return for a late-season surge.
Hendrickson's last game action came in Week 8 against the New York Jets, when he was injured during a play by offensive lineman John Simpson.
In seven games this season, the former third-round pick out of Florida Atlantic racked up four sacks and one forced fumble.
