The Buffalo Bills entered Tuesday's NFL trade deadline day with a lot of needs.
But at 3 p.m. ET, none of them had been filled yet.
The Bills could still pull off a last-minute deal. Or maybe within the building they didn't feel as much need as it appeared on paper.
But Bills Mafia woke up on Tuesday morning expecting a trade, or potentially multiple.
The Bills could use a wide receiver. But in the major WR deal of the day, they came up short to the Jaguars for Jakobi Meyers, and Rashid Shaheed went from the Saints to the Seahawks.
The Bills could use a defensive tackle. But DTs Quinnen Williams and Mazi Smith changed teams and didn't involve Buffalo.

Buffalo could use a defensive end, too, an edge rusher to replace the injured Michael Hoecht. No luck there, with the Browns moving a pass rusher to the Bears on the small scale of things but not much else.
The expectations had gone away a bit of a trade for a safety, but that would've qualified as progress, too.
No such progress, though.
The clock is ticking.
This Bills team owes it to itself to take a big swing. They still are chasing that elusive Super Bowl.
But their early trade deadline returns weren't returns at all. There weren't any.
