For the second time this season, the Atlanta Falcons are signing a new kicker after a game-losing miss.
Deja vu all over again, Yogi Berra would've called it.
They already did it after Week 1. Younghoe Koo had been the Falcons' kicker since 2019, and on his first attempt at the buzzer against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Koo made his kick. But a timeout had been called to ice him, and on the second try, he missed.
The Falcons replaced Koo with Parker Romo.
Romo was 11-for-14 on field goals with Atlanta, but on Sunday, when an extra point would've tied the game 24-24, Romo missed the point after, and the Falcons lost 24-23.
So on Tuesday, Romo was let go, too.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that the Falcons have waived Romo.
And in Romo's place, per the report, comes Zane Gonzalez.

The well-traveled veteran kicker has worked out for a handful of teams this season but not gotten a contract to kick in a 2025 game until now.
Gonzalez kicked for the Commanders in 2024 and was 5-for-7 on field goal attempts.
He didn't kick in a regular season game in either 2022 or 2023.
Before that, he played for the Cardinals, Browns and Panthers.
Gonzalez has made exactly 80% of his career field goal attempts and 95.4% of his extra points.
