Four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon has decommitted from Texas, he told Rivals on Wednesday. This marks a major setback for Steve Sarkisian’s 2026 recruiting class.

Berymon, the No. 4 prospect in Louisiana and Rivals’ No. 23 defensive lineman nationally, originally committed to Texas in June. Despite that pledge, USC, Mississippi State, LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M all continued to pursue him aggressively throughout the fall.

The Monroe (La.) Ouachita Parish standout has made multiple visits this season, including two to Ole Miss, most recently attending the Rebels’ matchup against LSU in Oxford. His decommitment comes less than five weeks before the Early Signing Period, reopening at a key time for schools.

Berymon ranks No. 216 overall, according to Rivals. He's also an ESPN 300 athlete for next year. His size and power made him a priority target for Texas.

Even with Berymon’s departure, Texas maintains a strong defensive line group in its 2026 class, led by four-stars Vodney Cleveland, James Johnson and Corey Wells. But losing one of Louisiana’s top prospects stings as Ole Miss and others appear to ramp up pursuit heading into December.
