Maryland coach Mike Locksley isn't feeling the heat going into the final weeks of the season. Despite the Terps' five-game losing streak, he's taking it all in stride.

Locksley told reporters Tuesday that he deserves to keep his job, saying, "I'm the head coach at the University of Maryland." 

But rumors are swirling if he'll be on his way out at the end of the month. After a 4-0 start, Maryland sits at 4-5 with two wins over Big Ten opponents since the start of last season. Overall, Locksley is 37-46 and 1-18 against ranked opponent since 2019. 

Maryland's deal with Locksley run through the 2027 season. His buyout if fired this year would be $13.4 million, which is one of the more manageable pay outs in the nation. One key figure for Maryland is new athletic director Jim Smith, who didn't hire Locksley. Given that factor, a shake-up might be on the horizon 

For now, Locksley may not feel like he's coaching for his job, but two wins, especially one over No. 21 Michigan, would ease some pressure and give him some momentum.
