Chandler Morris injury update: Virginia QB's status vs. Duke image

Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris left the game last Saturday vs. Wake Forest and did not return.

The transfer signal-caller was held out with concussion symptoms after a slide and contact to the head between two defenders.

According to a report by On3’s Pete Nakos, Morris is questionable heading into this week's contest against Duke. “Chandler Morris is viewed as questionable, but there is hope that he can play this weekend,” Nakos said.

The 16-9 loss was frustrating for the Cavaliers, but the ACC contender controls their own destiny to the conference Championship game.

If Morris is available, it will be the best news for UVA who can't afford another loss. During Wednesday’s media availability, offensive coordinator Des Kitchings indicated that Morris will be practicing in a limited capacity later that day. This puts him on a reasonable timeline to break the opening huddle come Saturday.

No. 19 Virginia hits the road to face Duke on Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
