Arizona State's Kenny Dillingham reportedly told players he will coach Sun Devils next season image

Kenny Dillingham reportedly doesn't want to test the waters during this coaching cycle. The Arizona Sun Devils coach made it a point to inform his team that he would be in Tempe next season, according to a report by 247Sports' Chris Karpman.

Dillingham is in the midst of his third season at ASU with a 20-15 record. This comes after his name was linked to multiple Power Four jobs, including openings at Florida, Arkansas, and most recently Auburn. What made all of these rumors intriguing being in the SEC, and two with storied programs.

"He just walked in, said he wasn't going anywhere next year, and that it's going to be business as usual," the parent of one ASU defensive player told Karpman. "Then he left. He also did that with other [positions on the team] because those players heard the same thing and they talked about it after."

Dillingham roots haven't strayed too far from being outside of Arizona's capital city. The Scottsdale native and ASU alum is settling in after the program's first Big 12 championship last year. The Sun Devils aren't on a path to repeat after being ravaged by injuries, but they're still a force in the final month.

Arizona State is coming off a bye week following a key 24-19 win at Iowa State. Two of the final three contests will be at home, including the "Duel in the Desert" rivalry with Arizona.
