The Miami Heat could be in position to acquire one of the league’s most premier talents after years of disappointing results in that regard.
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo could be available on the trade block given the Bucks’ lackluster start to the season. With this in mind, the Heat have come up as potential suitors for the former MVP — and Finals MVP’s services.
Antetokounmpo is still in the prime of his career, averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 6.1 assists per game this season. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points believes Heat President Pat Riley has been holding all of his assets in order to target a player of Antetokounmpo’s stature.
“Pat Riley has been withholding the Heat’s best assets in trade talks through the years in hopes of a big time star. Is this finally the time for Heat to add their next superstar with a package of Herro, Ware, Jaime, and picks? After all, Herro is from Milwaukee,” Siegel said.
Whether or not the Heat will pursue Antetokounmpo remains to be seen, but the path to a trade does exist, and the Heat will certainly monitor the situation as they try to compete for a title in 2025-26.
