Rich Paul provides five-word answer to question about Lakers' LeBron James' trade chances image

LeBron James’ situation with the Los Angeles Lakers isn’t as bad as many believe it is.

While James is on pace to set a career low in scoring (he's averaging 16.1 points per game), the four-time NBA champion has played winning basketball since returning from his sciatica setback.

The Lakers are 6-1 when James is on the hardwood, proving that although James is no longer the go-to scoring option in Los Angeles, his contributions will always equate to wins.

However, with the trade deadline quickly approaching, some individuals are 100% sold that James will finish the 2025-26 season with the Lakers.

While speaking to former ESPN analyst Max Kellerman on the Game Over podcast, James’ agent, Rich Paul, provided a five-word answer to a question about the 21-time All-Star’s chances of getting traded this season.

“No,” Paul said regarding a potential trade involving James. "Where's he gonna go?”

When Kellerman tossed the idea of James landing with the New York Knicks, Paul responded with a similar sentiment.

“That's wishful thinking, Max, from New York," Paul stated. "Does LeBron make the Knicks better? Yes. Yeah, he would, of course. But 29 other teams would say the same thing."

Simply put, although there’s no guarantee James will finish his career with the Lakers, it’s highly unlikely he joins a new franchise this year.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers superstar should be prepared to continue his partnership with Doncic for at least a few more months and do what it takes to help Los Angeles secure their first championship since 2020.
