Reports indicated last week that the Toronto Blue Jays brought in Kyle Tucker to their facility down in Florida, perhaps giving them an edge on any team in baseball at the moment.
Tucker is widely regarded as the top free agent available, and rightfully so, as the left-handed hitting outfielder has done nothing but swing the bat at a very high level since entering Major League Baseball.
Multiple teams are expected to be interested in Tucker, including the New York Yankees.
The Yankees have a reason to go out and add a player of his caliber, even if it's due to the simple fact that they have to get back to where the Blue Jays were a season ago.
However, according to the latest report, it remains uncertain if Tucker is going to ever visit Steinbrenner Field, and he's yet to do so at the moment.
“Kyle Tucker visited the Blue Jays’ spring training facility in Dunedin recently, which is near Tampa,” The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner reported. “Brian Cashman said Tucker has not visited Steinbrenner Field. He did not say whether or not he expects him to visit at all.”
It's tough to say Tucker is a perfect player for the Yankees to go after, depending on his price, but if we're going off sheer talent, he's obviously one of the better players in baseball.
Cody Bellinger had a great season last year, but if the Yankees can replace him with Tucker, they'd probably be in a bit better spot.
