The San Francisco Giants are expected to be active this offseason. With Buster Posey now the president of baseball operations, he is backed by ownership to make several player transactions and pursue key free agents.
One thing San Fran could address this offseason is starting pitching, and since MLB's hot stove season is here, trade rumors and predictions are starting to pour in.

Giants predicted to make big splash trade for Joe Ryan
Remember when the Minnesota Twins completely cleaned house back in July when they traded 10+ players at the trade deadline? Starter Joe Ryan was one of the few players who stayed put, but now that the offseason is here, it's time to revisit the idea of him being traded.
Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter recently came out with a big trade predictions piece, and Joe Ryan is linked to the San Francisco Giants in a blockbuster trade:
"High-ceiling young shortstops Josuar Gonzalez and Jhonny Level could be attractive centerpieces in a blockbuster deal, while a controllable young arm like Landen Roupp or Hayden Birdsong could fill Ryan's spot in the 2026 rotation."
Robbie Ray and Logan Webb are at the top of the Giants' rotation, but adding Ryan would provide solid depth and a quality No. 3 starter.

Joe Ryan is controllable for the next two seasons and is coming off his most productive season as a starter, which is driving up his trade demand. He posted a 3.42 ERA in 171 innings and struck out 194.
If the Twins do decide they want to move on from Joe Ryan, expect several suitors, or teams that WANT to contend, to be in the sweepstakes.
