The Cincinnati Reds have said they don't want to trade Hunter Greene.
On the flip side, the Boston Red Sox seem very open to trading Jarren Duran.
What if they're a match?
The Athletic's Jim Bowden has proposed a trade he thinks would work for both sides involving these two stars:
"The Reds trade Hunter Greene to the Red Sox for outfielder Jarren Duran and pitchers Payton Tolle and Jedixson Paez."
This is how Bowden explained that idea:
"Boston continues to add to their starting rotation cabinet, giving them an intimidating top three with Garrett Crochet, Sonny Gray and Greene. The Reds get a dynamic table-setter for the top of their lineup, one pitcher who can step into the rotation immediately and another for the development group to work with."

The Reds do need more hitting, and their pitching is their strong suit. Maybe they'd consider a deal like this.
The other intrigue that might not occur immediately to Reds' fans is that Peyton Tolle could be a very good MLB pitcher. He already climbed to the bigs in 2025, and he's got serious potential.
Tolle won't turn into an ace like Greene, but if you get a heart-of-the-order outfielder to go along with a solid pitcher, maybe giving up Greene could be worth it.
For Boston, they clear the outfield log jam and get a massively talented pitcher.
If this happened, it could actually work for both sides.
