Rhamondre Stevenson fantasy injury tip: Outlook for TreVeyon Henderson or pickup decisions in Week 9 image

The New England Patriots will be operating with their shallowest backfield of the season in Week 9.

Antonio Gibson has been out for the season for a while now, and now Rhamondre Stevenson has been ruled out for Sunday against the Falcons due to a toe injury.

That leaves TreVeyon Henderson and not much else. Terrell Jennings is the next RB up on the depth chart, and the Pats have three backs on the practice squad that could get called up.

It's gotta be Henderson's week, right?

Should I start TreVeyon Henderson in fantasy Week 9?

If you've been hanging with Henderson in what has been an underwhelming rookie season, this is your chance: Put him in that Week 9 fantasy football starting lineup.

The Pats will have no choice but to give the explosive second-round rookie out of Ohio State as many touches as he can handle.

The Falcons' defense had been solid most of the season but was picked apart in Week 8 by the Dolphins, which isn't a ringing endorsement for it.

Henderson has run 53 times for 228 yards this season (4.3 yards per carry) and caught 16 passes for 99 yards.

This shapes up to be his best week yet.

Fantasy waiver wire replacements for Rhamondre Stevenson injury

If you have Stevenson, and don't have Henderson or an able replacement on your roster, there are a few options out there.

These guys are on rosters in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues:

  • Bam Knight, Cardinals
  • Tyjae Spears, Titans
  • Jaydon Blue, Cowboys
  • Samaje Perine, Bengals

Those first two, Knight and Spears, would be preferred choices. Blue and Perine are more of last resorts or pickups for deep leagues.
