Bathurst 1000 Qualifying results: Brodie Kostecki sneaks in to claim fastest lap image

Brodie Kostecki finished on top after a thrilling qualifying session on Friday at the Bathurst 1000, with less than a tenth of a second splitting the first seven cars.

Driving for a place in Saturday's Top 10 Shootout, Kostecki set the tone right out of the pits before capping off the session with a 2:04.030 as a host of drivers set new lap records for Gen3 Supercars.

Championship leader Broc Feeney was just 0.006 back in second, with Ryan Wood in third, but it would be Kostecki and Shell V-Power Racing who head into the Top 10 Shootout full of confidence.
