The defending champions New Zealand will take on Ireland in their final Pool C clash in the Women’s Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2025 on Sunday at Brighton.

Both teams have already secured their spot in the quarterfinals. They won their opening two matches with bonus points. This match will, therefore, decide the pool topper.

Ireland beat Japan 42-14, followed by Spain 43-27, and sit second in the pool. On the other hand, New Zealand steamrolled both Spain 54-8 and Japan 62-19, making them favourites to win this match and finish unbeaten in the pool.

New Zealand have met Ireland three times before, but the Green Wave hold a 2-1 edge in head-to-head encounters. Their last clash came in September last year during the WXV1 in Vancouver, with Ireland narrowly winning 29-24.

The Sporting News looks at the key fixture details and how to follow the matches.
