St Helens head coach Paul Wellens has declared the Super League heavyweights would be interested in signing Victor Radley if the Sydney Roosters forward were to become available.
The English international is currently embroiled in controversy after being ensnared within former teammate Brandon Smith’s cocaine supply and illegal betting charges on the Gold Coast.
Police have alleged that Smith helped to put Radley in contact with a drug dealer in June.
As a result, Radley’s future in Bondi has been questioned due to the club’s supremo, Nick Politis, taking a famously hardline stance on drug use.

St Helens express interest in signing Victor Radley from the Roosters
"There’s obviously a fair bit going on over there at the moment with his personal situation," Wellens said when the prospect of Radley hitting the open market was brought up during a pre-match press conference.
"I’m not privy to any of the information surrounding that, so I wouldn’t want to comment on that one bit.
"But what I would say is that if a player of his quality wanted to come over to Super League, then we’d certainly like to be in the conversation."
Radley has been with the Roosters for the entirety of his NRL career to date, debuting as a teenager back in 2017.
The forward has since clocked over 150 first-grade appearances for the Chooks, with the local junior winning two premierships in the Red, White and Blue.
"There’s a lot going on, but I have to stress that he’s a player who is very attractive under the right circumstances," Wellens stated.
Radley opted to turn his back on Australia and a possible New South Wales Blues jersey in order to represent England three years ago.
And the 27-year-old has since become an integral member of Shaun Wane’s side, starring at the most recent World Cup.
This time with the English team has earned Radley glowing reviews from those who have dealt with the firebrand.
"I know he’s a good player and we’ve got players here that have played with him for England, and they all speak really highly of him," the Saints coach added. "Other than that, I don’t know anything."
Radley is still contracted for the next two seasons at the Roosters. But due to his family ties in England, the Super League could offer him a tempting route out of his current predicament.
